In My Garden V
The flowers bloomed with the seasons as they have for eons. And as is flowers’ nature, they bloom and share their beauty and then wither when it is time. As he prepares to paint, Kim meditates on how the blooms can best be captured on the canvas. He spends time with the flowers, pondering their essential forms and colors. When he paints, he attempts to depict them in their purest form. He paints using various techniques, sometimes with intensity and sometimes with restraint, but always with an energy that bursts out of the canvas. There is a rawness to the lines and a power to the colors.

We are pleased to announce the fourth solo exhibition of ourson Ryan, in my garden IV.Ryan loved to play in the garden as a child. His eyes were filledwith delights when he watched beautiful flowers dancing withgentle breeze. Now that he has grown into an artist, it is onlynatural that he enjoys creating his own little garden with delicatestrokes and bold colors.

“In my garden III” is the third solo exhibition of our son Ryan. When wewere preparing for his first exhibition last year, we were worried thatRyan, who had autism, would not do well. However, after two successfulexhibitions, and now getting ready for the third, we are convincedthat he would be a good artist.
In My Garden II
Moving past the physical dualities of my previous work, In My Garden II approaches the landscape as a psychological sanctuary. Here, the floral form is stripped of its weight, transforming into minimalist gestures and expansive fields of color. By trading thick, aggressive textures for quiet gradients and open space, this series creates a visual breathing room—exploring the garden not as an external subject, but as a safe internal landscape and a tranquil state of mind.
In My Garden I
In his debut solo exhibition, In My Garden, artist Hyojung Kim presents a vibrant botanical world where raw intensity and profound gentleness coexist. Moving away from traditional depiction, Kim utilizes commanding lines and heavily layered, sculptural textures to create a unique series of abstract flowers. Each piece captures the dual nature of the living world, balancing a powerful, grounded weight with a sense of fluid vulnerability, ultimately transforming the canvas into a tense yet harmonious ecosystem.
